CHRISTIAN GALENO
emmy award winning multimedia journalist, anchor & media specialist
Media Design is important to also be able to tell a story. It catches the eye and it conveys a story in a beautiful and visual way. Below you will find media design work that I have designed in the past for media design courses.

Hpnstnce Creative was the PR Agency that I created for my Media Design course at California State University, Long Beach.
Hpnstnce Creative serves as an agency for the Latino market in Los Angeles and it's surrounding areas. We provide a range of services from public relations, social media and influencer marketing, event planning and more.
These are some of the documents that I designed to establish my firm. I designed the logo while keeping a polished, contemporary and fresh look. Happenstance has been how I have found every opportunity that I have been fortunate to be a part of, whether it be my jobs, internships or the people that I meet.

I envisioned this company as one that would not only connect Latinx companies, businesses, influencers and business owners with their public and beyond, but we would also make sure that our clients always have a good relationship with the general public.
Magazine Design - "Latinx Magazine"

For this assignment we had to design a magazine and newspaper layout where we were able to successfully tell what the story was about by only using visuals.
For my assignment, I had to convey the news that we over at Hpsntnce Creative just appointed a brand new CEO. A Latinx woman of color was now leading the top PR agency in Los Angeles.
To spread the news I designed "Latinx Magazine" a lifestyle, special interest magazine that showcased all things Latinx in the City of Angels. On the cover "Kitzia Ramirez" was featured as our new leader, inside a double spread featured pictures and article of the new chief executive officer.

Newspaper Design - "Latinx Magazine"

The second part of the assignment was to design a newspaper layout.
This is a local newspaper layout that I designed titled "Los Angeles Frmd".
I channeled a lot of modern designs for this newspaper, I wanted to stay away from the usual "classic" look and convey the edgy-ness and posh that a city like Los Angeles has to offer.
Our agency once was able to make it on the cover of this local paper to spread the news of our new leader.

Communication Plan - Power of You Health Fair

A good PR agency would not be a good PR agency if Crisis Management was not one of our specialties. For this assignement, I decided to mix some past experience from my internship with Telemundo 52 and use some elements from an event that I was able to plan and execute.
One of my "clients" (Telemundo 52) was facing a crisis where an on-air talent said comments that offended a major part of their viewership. In an effort to fix the harm the Spanish-language put together a free health clinic to "empower the community".
Our agency was in-charge of leading the communication via social media and various forms of communication. This was the Social & Communication Plan that I designed for the event.

Media Kit - Christmas En Casa

Giving back is important, especially to the communities where we grew up in. This assignment required me to design 3 Public Relation tools. A Place Called Home is a non-profit in South Los Angeles that provides after-school, mentoring and extra-curricular activities and services to hundreds of kids and their families.
During the holidays APCH have many toy giveaways as well as an Adopt A Family program where generous families adopt a family and provide them everything for the holidays when times are a bit hard.
I took inspiration from that and decided to create a Media Kit for this event. Hpnstnce Creative is one of their partners during the holidays as not only do our employees and admin adopt families, but we also assist in putting the event together.
